If I feel that I want more than one litter from an out-crossed bitch I like to line-breed her to my side of the pedigree for her first litter, then line-breed her to her out-crossed side for her second breeding. Ch Afara Just One More Day’s (Janie) first breeding was to Ch Afara Calico Pony (Connor) and I got the lovely Afara One Song Glory (Opa). For her second litter I bred Janie to Linda William’s GCh Crown’s Shot in the Dark (Carson) and I got Quinn. Many many Thanks to Linda for letting me breed to Carson. Quinn was the obvious pick puppy in the litter. She did not have a particularly difficult adolescent period (most my puppies do have long difficult adolescent periods) so I entered her in the 2024 Pacific Northwest Summer specialties – the Columbia River Specialties and the Cascade Specialties. Quinn won Reserve Winners Bitch under Andy Carter at Columbia River and at Cascade, Stephanie Hedgepath gave her Reserve Winners Bitch and Best Puppy. Tim Davis handled her at these specialties because I could not leave Chris for those many hours. Thank you Tim!!!
Encouraged by those results, I asked Sarah Woodling Houle to show Quinn at the Southern California specialties in January 2025. She came back with Winners Bitch/Best of Winners under Janet Bodin. The first word in Janet’s critique was YUMMY!!!! Thank You Janet and Sarah!!
I waited for the 2025 Pacific Northwest Summer specialties to show Quinn again. At the Columbia River specialties Quinn won Winners Bitch/Best of Winners under Glenda Cook then Winners Bitch/Best of Winners under Mari Carroll, handled at both specialties by Sarah Woodling Houle. Thank You Glenda, Mari and Sarah!!!
Then at the Cascade Specialty she won Winners Bitch/Best of Winners under Tammy Johnston to finish, again handled by Sarah Woodling Houle. Thank You Tammy and Sarah!!!
This is my 3rd dog to finish with all specialty wins. However, showing is not one of Quinn’s favorite activities so she will stay home to have babies. She is OFA Good hips, elbows Normal, vWD/eye/cardiac Clear, DM Carrier. Thank you All for appreciating my pretty pretty girl.
